missed the announcement a few months ago, I'm blogging again! You can catch up with what's been going on inside the white picket fence by visiting my new site. Come on over and say, "Hi!" Hope to see you there soon!!
I sent Jared out to get an updated image for Watch My Garden Grow (see sidebar) and found several lovely macro shots on my camera as well.
Pea flower above and tendril below
Zucchini Flowers
Broccoli- Ok, I have a confession to make here. Please don't think I'm stupid, I really don't like broccoli and haven't ever given the plant a lot of thought, but until this week, I had no idea that each of those little green nubs turns into a lovely yellow flower! I just left the broccoli on the plant thinking they would grow larger when imagine my surprise when I found it covered in flowers. My son, who'll eat anything outside, said that they were a delicious, surprisingly sweet flower. Corn- leaf with pollen grains above and silk below An unwelcome guest! Our chickens love to eat Japanese Beetles, but not as much as they love to eat lettuce and dust bathe in the zucchini hills so they're not allowing inside the garden leaving the beetles to decimate the pole bean leaves.
Great shots! Jared has talent..:-) Wal-mart has beetle bags you put on poles and draw the Japanese Beeltle away and trap them in the bags, they saved my moms garden. Hava great week..Ed
gorgeouuuuusssss!!!!!!! Do not feel silly about the broccoli!!!! It happened to me too!!!!! With our zuchinni also!! I did not know you needed to take it off at a certain size. Our zuchinni and summer squash ended up being about 3 feet long and about 6 inches wide...EACH!!!!!!
The pea tendril was my favorite shot of his too. Thank you everyone for your kind comments, I'll be sure to pass them along.
Tara, Believe it or not when we go to the county fair we try to grow a monster zucchini- they have a jr. division that takes monster submissions. We have yet to win. It is ridiculous how big some of those things can get, isn't it?

Beautiful & Delicate!
Amazing detail. Like the corn pictures with the grain and the silk. Never seen grain that small and close up.
Great shots...my favaourite is the one with the pinkish silk strings.
